Chapter 1
"Mom did you pack my toothbrush?" 18 year old Katie Hunington asked her mom
Colleen as she ran down the stais.
"No hun, i told you to." Her frustrated mother replied.
"Oh...Yeah now I remember." Katie ran back up the stairs to the bathroom
for find her purple toothbrush. 'Gosh, i hate how my memory works sometimes'
she thought.
See Katie, her mom Colleen and her dad Patrick were getting ready to
head up to the Orlando Air port to catch a plain to thier island- Dolphin
island. Colleen and Patrick owned this island and it was a private island.
There were only two houses on it. Every year they would go to the island and
stay there the whole summer. It was kinda a tradition that they did that
every year. long with that tradition they would invite their next door
neighbors, The MacCarthys, to join then in the extra house.
Katie ran next to her room to grab all of her C.D's. she grabed
'N*SYNC, 98*, Limp Bizket, Jorden Knight, Monica, Madonna and a few more of
her favs. Then she went downstairs with her parents to jump in the car.
~On the way to the Airport~
"Mom, why do we have to invite the MacCarthys evey year to come with us?
Caroline is so snobby (she's 16) and Mike is just a total perv.," Katie
complained.
"Oh, I did'nt tell you? The MacCarthys cancled last week. so I called
up you dads and my old colledge friends, Jane and Bob Carter, and they are
comming. They'll meet us at the ariport -(she looks @ her watch) - in about
1 hour."
"Do they have any kids?," Asked Katie hopeing that they did and they
were boys and they were cute and they were her age.....
"Why yes infact they do. You've met them before but only three are
comming. well actually you've only met one- Nicky. He's in a band or
something like thinat. The other two are twins and younger then him"
"When did i met him," Katie questioned her mom
"Oh, when you were little you two used to take baths together. You
looked so cute together,"Her mom replied thinking back to the days when the
Carters and the Huningtons used to live by eath other in New York. Then the
Huningtons had to move to Flordia because of Patricks job and the two
familys lost touch. Infact, The first time since the Jane and Colleen
talked was last week when Colleen invited them to come with. And it turnes
out the The Carters live in Tampa bay the town right next to where the
Huningtons live. What a small world, huh??
"I took baths with him?" Katie said outloud wanting to know what hes
like now.
"Yes indeedy sweety, I have the pictures to prove it," her mom said
cheerfuly.
About five minutes lator they pulled into the Orlando international
airport. Katie was getting restless about seeing Nick- or "Nicky as her mom
called him. She also wanted to she the two twins.
They got their luggage checked and everything else like that done.
Katie asked her mom if she could go the the little music stand that was
selling c.d.'s. Her mom said that she could so she headed for it. They had a
bunch of cd's so she decided to go for The Backstreet Boys:Millenium. She
paid the man and she stuffed the c.d. in her backpack that she was useing as
a carry along bag. She waited 15 more minutes until this woman called them
up to board the plane. She was getting worried that the Carters would'nt
come. She really wanted to meet Nick (well, actually see him again).
She settled in her seat. There were only six seates on the plane since
it was private and going to a really small island. A few minutes went by,
then somemore, then more, then more, and again some more when finally this
cute little, problay 10 years old , blond boy with a Nintendo 64 clutched to
his chest came through. Then a little girl that looked alot like the boy.
The an older blond woman, then a man. A few moments later a tall blond guy
stepped into the plane...

Chapter 2
The tall blond boy looked up to see Kaite stairing at him. He thought 'wow,
she is hot.' He smiled then walkd over to to her and sat down in the seat
next to her. She could feel heself getting nervious.
"Hi, I'm Nick," He stock his hand out and gave her one of his famous
carter grins.
"Hi, I'm Katelyn but you can call me Katie," She put her hand out and
took his.
While they were shaking hands Jane aplogized for being late and said
rather loud, "I'm sorry for being late. nick would'nt get out of the
bathroom because he was ixing his hair for like two hours."
Katie looked over at Nick and she noticed that he was blushing. She
said, "I think i looks nice."
He smiled and said, "Thanks."
Then Katie looked down and noticed that they were still shakeing hands.
She laughed and took her hand away from his. She did'nt want to though.
there was something about his touch that felt so good so mysterous.
There was an auckward pause. Katie as thinking about what to say to
this greek god look alike. And Nick was wondering why she did'nt faint whn
she saw him. He finally comcluded that she did'nt kiw who the Backstreet
boys were. He was glad about that. He liked a girl to like him for what ihe
is not what he does and hoe much he gets paid for for doing it. Finally
Katie borke the pause...
"My mom tells me that you are in band or something?"
"Yeah its nothin' much," he lied, "just a group of guys and I sing
together."
Katie could'nt think of anything to say so she just said, "oh".
There was another pause. Then the piolet announced over the intercom
that the plain was leaving now so "prepair to take off" and that they should
be at the island in 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Katie did not know what else to say so she took her backstreet boys CD
out of her backpack and started to opean it. Nick was watchin' he do this
and his eyes got really wide. after she was done unwrapping it she said,
"Have you ever heard of this group of guys, ummm... the Backstreet boys I
think, yea."
Nick was getting very anxious to she what else she would say so he
simply just said, "yea."
Nick was still watchin' her as she examined the cover and the inside
booklet. She looked down at the booklet then at him then down at the booklet
again and at him once more.
Then she said, "Oh my..... About this group of yours?"
He said, "yes?"
"Do they happen to be The Backtreet Boys?"
He said, "yes."
" So you are a member of the Backstreet Boys?"
He said, "yes".
There as a short pause then she looked up at him and smiled a very sexy
simle and replied, "Neat".
Her smile faded once she remembered that he said that is group was
"nothin' much".
"What wrong?" He asked.
"Nick, so you lied to me?"
"I'm so sorry. I just did'nt want to to like me as a friend because I
famous. I want you to like me for who I am not what I do," he explained
She got kinda upset when he said the word "friend".
"Ohh, I understand," She told him.
Then they both smiled and she went to hug him. He hugged her back for
about 10 seconds. He thought 'Gee, I could get used to this.'
They made small talk here and there and they noticed that they had a
ton of things in common. They both liked the color green, had the same exact
car and they both loved to play all kinds of sports.
Then Mrs Carter and her mom turned around and they were holding a
picture.
Jane and Colleene just smiled and gave the picture to Nick. He examined
it for a second and then said, "Wow, is this y-" he was cut off because
Katie grabed the picture from him and she looked at it. She started to
giggle.
"Yup, thats me and you in the tub," She finally said. Nick tried to
grab it back but she stoped him and said, "I don't wnt you to look this- I'm
naked!" She said between giggles.
"Ohh.... come on," He said pouting.
"No, no, no, no Nick-Nack you cant see it," and with that she stuffed
it into her backpack.
"What did you just call me?" he asked.....

Chapter 3
"Nick-Nack, don't you like it I thought you should
have a nickname, huh??"
He smiled thinking how sweet it was that she made up a name for him.
"Yea I love it, kitty-kat" (*AN: Another nickname of hers is Kat*)
"So thats my new name, huh?" She smiled
"Yea"
"Buckle your seatblets, we are prepairing to land," The piolet said over
the loudspeaker. after that everyone clapped and cheered. Nick and Katie
thought at the same time that this is going to be a wonderful summer. They
were on one of the main islands in the bahamas- Marsh Harbor. They will have
to ake a ferry ride to Dolphin Island.
Everyone got off the plain. Nick held katies hand to help her down the
last step. She smiled shyly and said "thank you". She normaly is'nt shy at
all. she is a total flirt- but in a good way- that is. She just needs some
more thime to get to know Nick because shes shy.
"Boy, its hot ," Nick commented to Patrick.
"Yea, thats how it is out here," he replied.
"So, how far away is our house from yours, Colleen??" Jane asked
"Oh it right next door about 50 km," Colleen replied.
"How about the Huningtons and the Carters have a big meal for dinner
tonight. Just like old times," Bob stated.
"Sure that would be great," Colleen and Patrick agreed.
"O.K how about around 7 pm at our cottage?" Jane stated
"Sounds good to me,"Colleen said
They got their stuff and got out of that small airport and walked tward
the boat dock makeing small talk.
'Why is Nick so quiet? He must be board. Why would'nt he be? I mean
he does'nt like me as much as i think i like him', Katie thought. Then
she decided to go over to him and talk.
"Hey Nick, whats up?" she asked
"Not much, just thinking" 'about how cute, funny, ineresting you
are' He wanted to tell her that he liked her but he was shy around her
since he only just met her.
"oh." With that she said nothin' else till they got to the ferry. She
was thinking'I knew it he thinks i'm like a ditz or something. He wont
even talk to me when I start up a conversation. I mean, it was fine on the
plane. He gave me a nick name and all.'
They all got to the ferry and borded it. It was stopping at many
differnet small islands. There were alot of people on board. There as a
bunch of teenage guys on it also.
Katie went to the side of the ferry to look out in the water. 'God
its so beautiful out here.'
Nick was watching her from her seat when he nothiced a group of about 5
guys checkin' her out and whistleing. He got extremely jealous and Gave them
a look that said "Back off...she's mine!". They saw the look and gave
him a "God your lucky, shes fine".
Nick was pleased with himself and he walked over by her to make sure
that the guys would'nt do anything else. They just stood there in sclience
thill the ferry was at the dock at Dolphin Island. The two familes headed
back to their houses to get ready for the "formal" dinner party....

Chapter 4
Katie stood in front of her mirror to put on her eyeshadow. Everyone told
her always how beautiful she was. Everyone- but mostly guys. She was very
happy with herselp. she got good grade, ahe was careing and she was just a
good all around person.
She was wearing a short spagetti straped summer dress. It was pink silt
with embroidered white flowers on it. Her hair was in a high poneytale. She
wanted to look good for Nick.
"Kate, come down here. Its time to go," Her mom called from downstairs.
"One sec, mom, i'm almost done." she said as she was appling her lip
gloss.
Two minutes later she was done with everything and read to go out the
door.
She got complimnts from both her mom and dad on how good she looked.
That made her feel special when they told her they liked how she looked.

Chapter 5
"Wow you look good, Katie," Angel commented. Angel thought Katie was the
coolest person and she wished to have her as a big sister.
"Thanks,"Katie said back.
Everyone was in the kitchen of the Carters cottege. The table was set
and the food smelled so good. It was an Italian feast. Garlic bread, meat
balls, spagetti, and salid.
"Nick get down here, you're being rude." Jane called up the stairs to
her son.
A few minutes later Nick came down the stairs wearing a nice pair of
Kackis (sp?) and a "Tommy" shirt. He was wearing his gravity calonge that
smelled so good. Katie could smell it over the table.
Over dinner the two familes talked about what they ere going to do this
summer. The were going to explore the islands in the Hunintons boat, suba
dive and just have fun. after dinner Nick called Kaie aside...
"Kate, could you come over here, please?" Nick asked.
"Sure..Whats up?"
"Well... Ummm..i. was just..um...wondering if you would want to go for
a walk on the beach."
"You read my mind, Nick-Nack," Katie said smileing.
They got out of the house and headed tward the beach. It was a rather
warm night and you could smell the scent of tropical flowers in the air.
"Is'nt it nice out here?" Katie told Nick
"Yeah, it sure is."
They were justwalking along the beach looking at the stars.
"Katie, I'm real glad I came. I can tell we are going to be great
friends."
There was that dreaded word that Katie freaed. Friends. So she
finally made up her mind that Nick did'nt like her the way she liked him. So
she decided to jump on the chance to become friends with such a nneat guy.
"Yea, I'm glad you came too. Listen, do you want to go scuba diveing
tomorrow?" Katie asked she could see Nicks eyes light up when she said
"sucba diving".
"Yea, that would be soooooo cool....ohhh..wait....I can't and neither
can you." Nick said
"Why not?"Katie said sadily.
"Because you are coming with me to the airport-" Nick said and he
could'nt get the chance to finish his sentence because katie cut him off...
"You're leaving?" Katie said about to cry.
"No, no, no, no... My friend, Brian Litterl, is comming to visit for a
little while. He's from the Backstreet Boys also.
Katie then, acting sarcastic, said,"Ohh, wow I got two of the hottest
guys in the world all to myself," she said playfully pushing nick in the
sand.
"Ohhh you are so gonna get it kitty-kat," and wih that Nick got up and
chased Katie down the beach. When he finally cought up to her he picked her
up and slung her over his sholder.
Katie was kicking and giggleing and saying jokeingly, "No, I don't
belong in the arms of Nick Carter. He's to good for me." After she said that
he tightened his grip on her and he was headed tward the water.
Katie saw him going to the water and got serious now, "Nick no, please,
I have on my new really expensive dress."
Nick stopped and then said, "Ok fine, kat, but you better watch out." He
put her down and then they walked back to their own houses to fall asleep
thinking about what the next day might bring.

Chapter 6
Katie woke up to the pounding on her window right next to her bed. She
was'nt a moarning person so she was reall pissed off.
She went over to the windo to find it was her pal, Nick Carter.
Suddenly she got in a real better mood. She said, "Hi, Nick-Nack whats up."
Nick said looking at he straingly and grinning, "Katie, airport,
brian, remember??"
Katie then just realized that she was in her pj's. She was wearing a
lavender sports bra and some pink panties. She then quickly went closer to
him and covered his eye with her hands. She then told him, "Nick when I
remove my hands your eyes will be closed and you will go and wait for me in
the kitchen and i will be down there in 10 minutes tops, ok?"
Nick sighed and then said, "Ok, ok but hurry up" Then he left her room
Katie put on her striped green blue and red haulter top an a pair of
short-shorts that were cut-offs. She then put her hair in a high poney-tale
and left her long banges out and put them behing her ears. When she was done
with that she ran down stairs to find Nick talking with her mom. When Nick
saw her he smirked and smiled really big. she new what that was about- him
seeing her in her pj's. She just gave him a look as if to say, ''Shut up
or i'll punch your lights out". Suddenly his expression faded.
she turned to her confused mom and said, "Mom nick and I are going to
take the boat to the air-port ot pick up his friend Brian. We'll be back
after lunch."
"O.k deary, be careful and let Nick drive the boat. I know that you
can't drive it to well because the last time you almost crashed."
Katie looked over at Nick. she saw that nick was trying not to laugh.
Then she looked back at her mom.
"Alright, but I don't guarentee that Nick won't crash it."
Nick let out a "Heyyy," tring to soung hurt
Then they left after saying bye to Colleen.
